With new rules, restrictions and safety measures in place, travel looks a little different in this day and age. Here are a few things to know before you head off to Koh Samet:

• Research if any restrictions apply to both your origin and destination. You may not be able to travel depending on local circumstances, so be sure to check before you lock something in.
• When you pass through airport checkpoints, do not remove your face mask. You will be asked to briefly lower it for ID purposes. Those who refuse to wear a face mask may be denied entry or boarding.
• Rather than handing a TSA agent your boarding pass, position it straight on the reader yourself. When that's done, hold it up for inspection.
• TSA now allows passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on bags. This will need to be removed from your bag for X-ray screening.
• Remove items from your pocket, like your small change and phone, and put them in your carry-on rather than the bins. This will minimize handling during the screening process.
• Separate any food you have for X-ray screening. Placing it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA officer to touch and inspect your belongings.
